Biography

Born on November 11, 1988, in New Delhi, Raghav Chadha is a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament representing Punjab and a key member of the Aam Aadmi Party's national leadership. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he is an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School's Global Leadership Program.

His political career began during the Anna Hazare-led India Against Corruption movement in 2011, where he co-founded AAP and served as the party's first national treasurer. He subsequently served as MLA from Rajendra Nagar constituency and Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board, where he implemented 24x7 water supply systems. Currently, he serves on Parliament's Standing Committee on Finance.

Married to actress Parineeti Chopra, Raghav focuses on policy areas including youth representation, agricultural reform, middle-class tax relief, and constitutional federalism. His legislative work addresses issues ranging from AI development to water management and judicial transparency.

A Chartered Accountant (2011) by training, Raghav brings unique financial expertise and policy acumen to governance. He is an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School's Global Leadership and Public Policy Program for the 21st Century (2025), where he engaged with former Prime Ministers and Treasury Secretaries on topics ranging from leadership and negotiation to artificial intelligence.

His professional journey began in the corporate world with leading consultancy firms including Deloitte and Grant Thornton, where he developed deep understanding of economic systems and governance frameworks. Before entering politics, he was establishing his own chartered accountancy practice in London when the India Against Corruption movement began in 2011.

As a Rajya Sabha MP since 2022, Raghav serves on Parliament's Standing Committee on Finance, overseeing critical policies that shape India's economic future. His parliamentary interventions are marked by meticulous research, constitutional grounding, and unwavering focus on middle-class concerns. From raising the first questions about iPhone surveillance to advocating for AI infrastructure development, he consistently brings cutting-edge issues to national discourse.

Before entering Parliament, Raghav served as MLA from Rajendra Nagar constituency (2020-2022) with a decisive 57.06% vote share and Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board, where he transformed water supply systems to achieve 24x7 piped water delivery. His administrative tenure showcased ability to translate policy vision into measurable outcomes, delivering tangible improvements in citizens' daily lives.

Raghav's political journey began during the Anna Hazare-led India Against Corruption movement in 2011, where he met Arvind Kejriwal. He was instrumental in drafting the Delhi Lokpal Bill in 2012 and became AAP's youngest national spokesperson. He co-founded AAP and served as the party's first national treasurer, helping establish its organizational foundation.

Raghav comes from a Hindu Punjabi family and grew up in Delhi. In September 2023, he married acclaimed Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, following their engagement in May 2023. Despite their demanding careers, he maintains close family ties and friendships from his pre-political days, emphasizing his commitment to staying grounded in his public role.
